But the vision of one man changed their entire way of traveling. The vision of one man brought enormous change in everybody's life.. Dr. Chandrakant J. Mokal. A health entrepreneur, practicing in untouched & deep konkan region of Dabhol. He noticed that people are getting difficulties in crossing a one kilometer's creek. This one kilometer measures 70-80 Kilometers & 2 hours of journey for the villagers. Facing number of difficulties, Dr. Mokal took an initiative to start a ferry in this region. With active support of his son Dr. Yogesh Mokal, he launched his company 'Suvarnadurga Shipping and Marine Services Private Limited'. Ferry in Konkan is an innovation in traveling. Although this is existing in couple of states in India; but as far as Maharashtra is concerned; Suvarnadurga Shipping's ferry is the first in the state. People welcomed this new & closer way very happily.
